The candidate will be qualified to teach in the varietyof programs (BSN, RN-BSN, MSN, and DNP) offered within thedepartment. The School offersBaccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice nursingeducation programs. The programs are accredited by the Commissionon Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the CaliforniaBoard of Registered Nursing. The School also has a Wound and Ostomyprogram and several Nurse Managed Centers in the community. The primary responsibilities of the accepted candidatewill be to teach both undergraduate (BSN, RN-BSN) and graduatecourses (master’s and/or Doctor of Nursing Practice). Additionalresponsibilities may include a combination of classroom, online,and clinical teaching, and supervision of graduate and/or DNPstudents’ projects. Further responsibilities include a commitmentto teaching and participation in evidence-based practice andadvanced nursing research; maintaining clinical expertise; advisingstudents; and effective team collaboration across the School ofNursing. Teaching effectiveness, scholarly/professionalachievement, and service to students and university are requiredfor retention, tenure, and promotion.
