Motorists driving between Mabou and Port Hood in Inverness County will find rugged scenery but a smooth road after the completion of a road-paving project by the province. The Department of Transportation and Public Works today, July 15, advertised a tender for repaving on various sections of Trunk 19 from Mabou Harbour Bridge south for 11 kilometres to Port Hood. This project is part of the Department of Transportation and Public Works’ program to upgrade the province’s highways. The Department of Transportation and Public Works’ highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
